Our Story

Since April of 2009, an exciting new team has taken the helm at Portelli Rossi. Our inspired new owner, Mason, and our inventive and talented new Chef, Joe, are working hard, along with longtime manager Jack, to bring Novato fantastic new flavors, eclectic new menu choices and exceptional new and thrilling dining experiences. Taking what was already one of Novato’s best and most popular restaurants and making it even better is not an easy challenge, but one we are eagerly taking on.

Our roomy and alluring Alfresco Patio has recently been remodeled by longtime resident Shaz, whose attention to detail is distinct and well thought out. This provides our guests with a unique opportunity to soak up the sun, whether you are having a relaxed business lunch, celebrating a birthday or anniversary or just stopping in with friends for a mouth watering meal. If you prefer, unwind in our charming indoor dining area.

I can’t think of a more lovely way to spend an evening, surrounded by friends, neighbors, family, or guests from out of town who just want to experience the feeling of an Old Italian village welcoming allure. On most Friday and Saturday nights, July thru mid-October (weather permitting), we will present a wide variety of live music on our garden patio. Who needs to leave Novato? We’ve got it all here!
